Sandra brings a rich background in the arts to her work as a Mah Jongg instructor. For twelve years, she taught Art History and Studio Art at the university level, holding positions at Colorado State University, Southern New Hampshire University and Central Texas College. She holds an MFA from Parsons, and those years in the classroom shaped an approach to teaching that is patient, visual, and attuned to how people actually learn, whether they're parsing a Charleston pass or a composition in a photograph.

Sandra's path to Mah Jongg grew out of a lifelong fascination with pattern, strategy, and the social rituals that bring people together around a table. She loves the mental challenge the game demands, the community it builds, and, most of all, watching students grow from uncertain beginners into confident players. Her goal as an instructor is not just to teach the mechanics of play, but to help students feel that same sense of discovery and belonging that drew her in.

Based in the Denver/Boulder area, Sandra brings an artist's eye and an educator's patience to every session, creating a welcoming environment for newcomers and a rewarding challenge for more experienced players alike. Whether guiding a first-timer through their first hand or coaching a returning student on the finer points of strategy, she is committed to making Mah Jongg approachable, exciting, and endlessly rewarding to learn.
